Charter Schools are public schools that function under a charter. The charter allows schools to engage in innovative educational programs that meet high performance standards. Pennsylvania’s Charter School Law was enacted in 1997.
Due to the extended curriculum, students begin their day at 7:45 A.M. and are dismissed at approximately 3:30 P.M.; dismissal times are staggered for various grade levels. Extended Day Care runs until 6:00 P.M. every school day.
The school year begins in September and ends in June.
Onsite and offsite summer school programs are designated by each campus.
Yes. All students who are eligible will receive a free and reduced breakfast and lunch.
The School District of Philadelphia is responsible for all student transportation. All 1-8th Grade students only who live 1.5 miles or more away from the school will receive transpasses. Special Education students who are currently receiving transportation services from the School District of Philadelphia will continue to receive such services. ***Schools are not responsible for transportation services.

Yes. A list of after school programs is sent home with the student once the school year begins. We continue to work with the Student Activities Committee to expand this list; please visit our news and events link for information on extended day aftercare & after school clubs/sports on our website.
Yes. We have gifted individual educational plans in addition to advanced & honors course work.
All students in grades Kindergarten through 5th will have each of the following classes for one hour every week:

Starting at the sixth grade level, student choose a major, in which they spend 90 minutes a day.
Yes, our schools follow the Child Find Policy and offer special education programs and services.
