String Theory Charter Schools

Philadelphia Performing Arts: A String Theory Charter School is a K-12 charter school with three campuses in the city.

When Philadelphia Performing Arts was founded in September 2000, it was the only elementary performing arts school in the city of Philadelphia. Now, twenty two years later, the school has grown to include a high school, a robust arts and innovation curriculum with a variety of specialty courses, and three campuses. Each campus houses studios, science and innovation labs, and creative spaces to foster student learning and exploration.

Philadelphia Performing Arts, East Campus (kindergarten and first grade) and Philadelphia Performing Arts, West Campus (second through fifth grades) are located on Broad Street in South Philadelphia. Philadelphia Performing Arts, Vine Campus (sixth through twelfth grades) is located at 1600 Vine Street in Center City Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Charter School for Arts and Sciences is a K-8 neighborhood charter school located in Northeast Philadelphia.

Arts and Sciences opened its doors in September 2012. The school is part of the School District of Philadelphia's Renaissance Schools Initiative and was entrusted to String Theory Schools by the School Reform Commission (SRC). Formerly H.R. Edmunds, String Theory Schools renamed the school to reflect the arts and innovation focused curriculum, the school community, and the mission of all String Theory Schools.
